Hey folks! Your friendly neighborhood car enthusiast here, and I’ve got some exciting news from the Honda camp that just dropped. Get ready to add a little more oomph to your daily drives, because Honda has officially launched a new, limited-run variant of our beloved City sedan: The Honda City Sport!

Now, before you ask, no, it’s not a complete overhaul with a new engine. But trust me, this “Sport” edition is all about giving that familiar, reliable City a seriously cool visual upgrade, and it’s priced at ₹14.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Pretty sweet, right?
So, what’s the big deal? Well, Honda knows we love a car that stands out, and they’ve given the City Sport some neat cosmetic tweaks that really hit the mark.

Here’s the lowdown on what makes this “Sport” variant special:
- Darker, Edgier Looks: Say goodbye to some of the chrome. The City Sport embraces a more aggressive, blacked-out theme. Think blacked-out front grille, black ORVMs (those are your side mirrors, by the way!), a slick black lip spoiler at the back, and even those cool glossy black shark fin antennas. Even the alloy wheels get a sporty grey treatment. It just screams “I mean business!” without being over the top.
- Sporty Interiors with a Dash of Red: Step inside, and you’ll find an all-black cabin, which already feels premium. But Honda has added some fantastic red contrast stitching on the leather seats, door inserts, and even the steering wheel. It’s a small detail, but it makes a huge difference in how “sporty” the interior feels. Plus, you get fancy 7-colour ambient lighting – perfect for setting the mood!
- The Same Trusted Engine: Under the hood, it’s the familiar and reliable 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine. It’s E20 compliant (which is great!), and it pumps out a healthy 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque. So, while the looks are sportier, you’re still getting that smooth, efficient drive the City is known for.
- Automatic Only (for now!): This “Sport” variant comes exclusively with a CVT automatic transmission, which also includes paddle shifters for when you want a little more control. So, if you’re a manual enthusiast, you might have to stick to the other City variants for now.
- Loaded with Features: You’re not losing out on features here. The City Sport gets all the good stuff from the mid-spec V CVT variant, including the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, and of course, Honda SENSING (their awesome ADAS suite for enhanced safety!).

My take? If you’ve been eyeing a Honda City but wanted something with a bit more flair and a sportier vibe without breaking the bank, this limited-run City Sport is definitely worth checking out. It brings that youthful energy and a distinct personality to an already fantastic sedan. But remember, it’s a limited-run variant, so if you’re interested, best to head to your nearest Honda showroom or check online soon!
