Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has announced a voluntary recall affecting several of its popular models in India. This move comes due to a seatbelt-related issue impacting both sedans and SUVs manufactured in the country.
What’s the Issue?
The recall, which affects a combined 1,821 units produced between December 2021 and May 2025, stems from ongoing quality inspections. The identified problems include:
- Cracks in the metal base frame of the rear seatbelt assembly (left and right side).
- Incorrect seatbelt parts installed in either the front or rear.
Affected Models
Skoda: 860 units of the Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia, manufactured between December 1, 2021, and January 31, 2025, are impacted.
Volkswagen: 961 units of the Taigun and Virtus, also manufactured within the December 1, 2021, to January 31, 2025, timeframe, are part of this recall.
