The sacred festival of innocent love and protection that binds the sweetness of relationship
Let us tie the bond of protection, remember the sweet quarrels.
Let us fight over small and big things, tease each other in fun.
Come, let us maintain this bond, feel the touch of love in the heart.
Let us keep the sweet memories in our minds, let us celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan with happiness.
Raksha Bandhan, a sweet feeling arises in the mind as soon as we hear this word. This is not just a
festival, but a living connection of the unbreakable love, fun and childhood memories of brother and sister. On this day, the sister ties a rakhi on the wrist of the brother, and the brother promises to protect her. But apart from these religious rituals, a sweet memorable fun of this festival is hidden in the small and big quarrels, pranks and unique affection between the brother and sister.
On the morning of Raksha Bandhan, even if siblings fight with each other all day, everything is forgotten on this day. The sister wakes up early in the morning and calls the brother to do puja, and the brother plays and sleeps. “Mom, let me sleep a little longer, the whole day just goes by in this noise.” This is a fun thing that happens in every house. Then the process of convincing the brother begins. “Come on, get ready quickly, I have to tie a rakhi.” And finally, the brother gets up. Talking about childhood, the fights between siblings were a different world.
“Where did the TV remote go? He took it, didn’t he!” “No, I didn’t take it!” And then the screaming that happens makes the atmosphere in the house heated. But as soon as the mother’s anger starts, both of them are ready to save each other. “Mom, it wasn’t his fault, it was my fault.” Such an incident has happened in almost everyone’s life. Once, the sister accidentally spilled a glass of coke on her brother’s clothes. The brother got angry and complained to his mother. Seeing his mother’s anger, the sister started crying. But the brother immediately told his mother, “It wasn’t his fault, I fell when I went to the closet to get clothes.” That day, the brother saved his sister from his mother’s anger. This love is the true relationship. When it comes to pranks, which sibling can stay away?
Sending messages from his brother’s mobile to his friends, making fools of him, hiding his favorite clothes, or hiding in his room and scaring him. This is completely normal. But when it comes time to take revenge for these mischiefs, the fun of “prank wars” between siblings is something else.
Once, the sister hid a big plastic worm in the brother’s school bag. When the brother opened the bag, the whole house echoed with its screams. There are many such incidents that make the relationship stronger.
Talking about travel, the memories of trips with siblings and family are never forgotten. Sometimes fighting for seats in the car, sometimes stealing each other’s food, and sometimes talking all night long.
“You talk a lot, sometimes being quiet,” “First you keep quiet, then I will.” No trip is possible without such dialogues. All these small and big jokes, fights and harmony only increase the sweetness of the relationship.
The day of Raksha Bandhan, even though brothers and sisters talk about gifts, but at its core, childhood memories and unbreakable love are hidden. A sister hopes for a good dress or a mobile as a gift from her brother, and a brother hopes for a sweet smile from his sister and a homemade meal. This festival is not just about tying Rakhi, but also about filling each other’s lives with the color of joy and love.
The description of this sacred relationship is also found in our ancient texts. In the Mahabharata, Draupadi tied Rakhi to Lord Krishna, while Krishna cut off his finger with the Sudarshan Chakra. The glory of Raksha Bandhan has emerged from this occasion.
A beautiful verse in Sanskrit explains the importance of this relationship:
येन बद्धो बली राजा दानवेंद्रो महाबलः.
ते त्वां प्रतिबध्नामि राक्षे मा चल मा चल मा चल द्वाराजे
Meaning: “The sweetness of relationships, the fun and the love, this is the real magic of Raksha Bandhan.”
