Yo Buddy Its Vishal The Khushhal .. Watching the launch of the new Renault Duster today felt like a long-overdue reunion. As an auto enthusiast, I’ve been waiting for this moment since the original Duster left a void in our market. It’s fascinating that in just two months, we’ve seen the rebirth of two absolute legends: the Tata Sierra in December and now the Duster.

Both SUVs are icons of yesteryears, and seeing them relaunched with modern designs and cutting-edge specs has created a massive buzz. The Sierra, with its lounge-like interior and futuristic EV and ICE versions, already set the bar high last month. Now, the Duster steps in with its rugged CMF-B platform, Y-shaped LED signatures, and that much-anticipated choice between a 2-wheel and a proper 4-wheel drive. For the lifestyle adventurer, that 4×4 option is exactly what we were craving.

However, despite the adrenaline from the ceremony, a thought lingers: बहुत देर कर रहे है महेरबाँ आते आते… (My dear, you are taking too long to arrive). While the reveal was spectacular, the timeline feels like a test of patience. Bookings opened today, January 26th, but we won’t even know the official prices until mid-March. By the time deliveries actually begin in mid-April, another three months will have passed.

In a market where the new Seltos is already dominating and the Sierra is capturing hearts with its retro-chic vibe, can Renault afford this wait? If the build quality and on-road performance live up to the legacy, the Duster will undoubtedly reclaim its territory. But I wonder—will enthusiasts stay loyal and keep the Duster waiting on their driveways, or will they succumb to the immediate charm of the Sierra or a Seltos? Only time, and the first few test drives, will tell.
